Description

What awaits you in this experience:
Filarete Tower
Also known as the Tower of Umberto I, king of Italy who died in Monza in 1900, it will be the first wonder that will catch your eye.
The current tower is the result of Beltrami's design and reconstruction, since the original collapsed just a century after its construction.
Today, you can admire iconic details of Milan, including the statue of Sant'Ambrogio, the patron saint of the city, and the clock with the radiant sun, as well as the coats of arms of the Sforza family.

The Rondanini Pietà
Michelangelo's last creation, this work is preserved inside the museum located in the former Spanish Hospital, once a refuge for plague victims.
This is a unique sculpture, considered the artistic testament of Michelangelo, who died a few days after completing it, at the age of 89.
It portrays the deposition of Christ, now lifeless after the crucifixion, supported by Mary, his mother, who turns her gaze to anyone who contemplates this extraordinary work.

The Courtyard of Arms
Crossing the Filarete Tower and heading towards the Castle, you will find yourself in front of this imposing courtyard.
Its rectangular plan allows you to clearly distinguish, on the left side, the area built during the Spanish domination, while on the right you can observe fascinating finds, including ancient stone sarcophagi.

The Museum of Ancient Art
Today, this museum houses around four hundred sculptures of various origins, coming from monasteries, city walls and noble residences.
Among the works on display are true artistic treasures, which you can discover by walking through the rooms, enriched by decorations related to the wedding between the King of Spain Philip II and Mary Tudor. Inside the museum you can also admire the suggestive Ducal Chapel, commissioned by Galeazzo Maria Sforza, the Madonna Lia, painted by Francesco Napoletano, a student of Leonardo Da Vinci, and the Armoury, custodian of extraordinary testimonies of the past.
